Target's Home Design Event- GO NOW!

My mom texted me a picture (above) of a lovely living room set up the other day with just one word in the subject "Target!!!!!"
I literally jumped in my car and drove to my closest Target to see what was up- what I found was the Home Design Event, a special home event (like their Global Bazaar I love so much) focused on green living. There are some incredible finds there right now! See for yourself below- and then get in your car and GO.

If it's so green, why do you encourage people to drive instead of take public transport or walk?

Dear Lord. I want that sunflower mirror so badly, it hurts. Not available in stores? !@#)((!@#*&!

Has anyone seen it in person?

Anon... some people might not have public transport that goes to target, or live near public transport. I just googled how to get from my house to the closest target, and it would take almost 3 hours each way. Not too practical, is it?

EoS... I saw this at the local Target the other night and was stunned. If I hadn't been in a hurry, I would have snapped some pix.

Oh my goodness, I've already created my new living room on polyvore! Awesome find, Erin (and Erin's mom). Thanks!

Look! Anon haters! I think that means you've REALLY made it! Congrats, Erin.

It must be said, Anon, that it would be mighty difficult to transport furniture/lamps/etc on a bus or subway- so either you drive or it is driven to you by a delivery truck...we can all do our part to be green, but some people will never be able to NOT drive.

I ordered those chairs for my living room and got them on friday! I LOVE THEM! I didn't know that they would also have them at the store (although wit the free shipping, 15% off plus another $5 it was a better deal to order them online) I was so surprised at the amazing home stuff they have at the store right now!

I saw an article a few months back showing a turquoise Dorothy Draper-esque chest of drawers and a brown/white striped headboard that was set to be unvealed at Target. I haven't seen these items in the stores - do you know anything about this, Erin?

Am. So. Jealous. Right. Now.

We need Target in Canada.

Erin - I stopped by the Target in Somerville, MA tonight to check out all the splendor myself. And, would you believe it, everything in the entire section was 30% off! Not joking.

I didn't see the chairs though. Or the wallpaper. There were lamps, mirrors, shelves, and sidtables aplenty though.

Just thought I'd spread the word. I bought a rug, a lamp and a mirror for some of my projects. Too cheap to pass up!

Yup, I have already been twice! I fell in love with half of everything there, unfortunately it didn't all go with my present decor. Although I did pick up a new bedside table anddddd comforter for my bed from that section! Love them both!

THIS is Target?!?! Somebody get me a shuttle, I need to jet right over. I wonder if Targets at the beach look anything like this.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Just an FYI, there is a 30% off sale plus if you spend over $50 there is free shipping (for you non drivers/people not living near a Target) AND.... if you have a AAA card, you get an additional 10% off. Hooray! It's funny, because I just looked today and you had picked all of the items I had on my wish list. Glad to see I'm on the right track :)

Beautiful stuff! The store by me had the wallpaper in stock I couldn't resist!

I was there a couple days ago and didn't see any of this stuff. Boo. Probably for the best though, seeing as how I probably would have BOUGHT SOMETHING. (not a good option for me right now)

I thought I should let you know that I reference your blog in a post I made on my blog today. You inspired me to visit Target last week, and while I did walk out of there with a number of purchases, I also found some things I already had at home.

My mother purchased two of the wicker lamps months ago from target and is still unsure about what type of decor to put them with, any ideas?

Hello Erin, thanks for tips. I also jumped in my car and bought two beautiful lamps which will definitely look amazingly in my room. I make my living as a professional home stager, so it's usually me who gives advice about design or furnishing a house, but I'm always happy to be inspired by somebody else.
Take care,
Sara
