Driveway Makeover

My dad did not like the way his driveway looked paved and so a couple weeks ago he had it "stoned"- tar put down and then stones poured over top. Unlike a loose stone driveway, all the little stones stay in place. I think it looks amazing, and figured it might be something some of you might consider for your own homes!

A Smart Bargain

Look what I found on Smart Bargains for $99! Imagine it reupholstered in a great graphic pattern and used as a pair under a console table in an entryway! I may have to get them!

All fabrics from F. Schumacher.

Goodies from Orange

While I was obsessively perusing 1st Dibs yesterday I came upon these fantastic finds from Orange in L.A.

(that's a wine rack/shelf above right. AMAZING in a small space, no?)

Element Projects: New Home in Process

Thought I'd share some snapshots from a gorgeous house I'm working on- it's new construction and they JUST moved in so we have not gotten to installing most things yet, but the kitchen and bathrooms came out so great!

We are using Luca Linen by Scalamandre for a window treatment above the sink and three barstools in a great robins egg blue color (that relates to our scheme in the great room which is off this room)...

Kids bathroom with a gorgeous basket weave floor tile that came out PERFECT!

Three other bathrooms that also came out perfect! Far left we did small subways in various neutral colors and used great ring pulls on the vanity. Middle we did all Carerra marble and painted it the most gorgeous shade of blue (Ben Moore Palladian Blue). Right is the mudroom bath to which we added beadboard, a slate looking ceramic floor, fabulous rattan mirror and great paint color!

I am SO excited about this project- the fabrics and details we have picked so far are goin to look spectacular!!!

Preppy Ikat

Had to share this (poor quality) snapshot before I run out the door of some pillows I had made for a client using "Peyton Ikat", which is, believe it or not, a Historical Williamsburg fabric! It's 1/2 preppy with the green stripes, 1/2 high fashion with the ikat. LOVE.

Fashion Friday: Fall Shopping (updated)

I have no clothes.
Seriously, I want to bag every single thing in my closet and give it to Goodwill.
Fall is rapidly approaching and as the air gets chillier I have some serious fall shopping to do. Nubby old sweaters have seen their last day, time for some fresh fall fashion (click on pics for links). Sorry this is so short, more to come this afternoon, but I have a meeting to run off to!!

SHOPPING LIST:

1) SWEATERS!! Long, cozy cardigans that look great belted or open and short sleeved ones to layer over long sleeve t-shirts.

2) Sweater dresses that look great with tights! Easy and fabulous.

3) Full skirts paired with fitted tops and big chunky necklaces.

4) Ruffled bright blouses

5) Alice & Olivia pants (amazing fit!) or Theory pants (always tailored perfectly)

6) Shoes. I never buy shoes and I need to start. Booties and more patterned kicks are on my list.

7) Gobs of great belts and the Anya Hindmarch for Target bags (woo hoo)!
