Did anyone watch it? Of course you did, if you read this blog you must enjoy interior design and this is a guilty pleasure....I think.
My thoughts...
1) India Hicks' way of speaking is really annoying. And she's really tan. I guess that's how you roll when you live in the Bahamas year round.
2) JEFF LEWIS AS A GUEST JUDGE??? I'm signed up for the whole season!
3) Wisit. The name. The voice. The opera singing. Hella weird.
4) The "Junkyard", where they all went to shop for these $2,000/2 day lofts looked like a gold mine!! Why were they complaining? Prima donnas.
5) The right team won the challenge for sure, I was pretty impressed at what they did in two days but my question is- how did they get flooring and wallpaper to fit into the $2,000 budget?
6) Kelly Wearstler scares me. She is a rockstar in this biz, don't get me wrong, but something about her (and her future hair styles they showed in previews) makes me uncomfortable.
7) The talent pool on there is kinda weak... I hate to say it, but perhaps I should have tried out! LOL!
8) Just reaffirming that I *heart* Jonathan Adler...especially when he called the dog bed they made him "j'adorable".
9) The kiss off line "we can't live with your design" is HORRENDOUS!!!!
Love to hear what you thought of it.

The Office.
I am in dire need of organization- so today I have a braand new filing cabinet to fill and some serious tidying to do. In honor of my "get your sh*t together" vow, I present you a dreamy black and white office that just screams "clean and organized".
A vintage looking chair paired with a metal and glass architects desk allows for LOADS of counter top space.

A pair of soft, upholstered guest chairs for clients topped with a punch of color with graphic pillows and a pair vintage style desk lamps.

A graphic Madeline Weinrib rug to anchor the room and decorative bulletin boards for inspiration and organization.
A vintage console perfect for organizing (six open bins (for samples, etc.), four drawers and two cabinets below! I'd paint the inside bright green. I'd also get a big metal filing cabinet at Staples and do what Mary Macdonald did and cover it with a large graphic piece of paper.

Some colorful organizational accessories by Semikolon and file folders that would let me dream of a trip to Paris while doing tedious tasks.

Etsy Shop!
Hey Guys!
So I've launched my Etsy shop- right now featuring the vintage, hand printed wallpapers I've been so enamored with and that inspired the launch of my blog! Check them out, more to come! Also, as soon as I finish working on the vintage furniture I am refurbishing and modernizing it'll go on here as well.
Also, a couple photographs for good measure and to keep the photographer in me alive.
Cheers!
Erin

Erinn Valencich's Furniture Line!

You may recall my complete adoration and worshipping of lifestyle guru Erinn Valencich from a few months ago. Well, I just found out she is launching her own furniture line with J. Alexander at this years Highpoint Furniture Market! I hope to be able to go and see it in person before it hits stores!

Jane of All Trades- or THIS trade, rather.
I remember talking to one of Andrew's fabulous cousins while on the Cape last summer and she mentioned this website that her friend, a designer, had started called Decorati. All of the sudden, I seem to be seeing Decorati everywhere now! It's an online super-showroom of sorts- with tons of current furniture and accessory manufacturers displayed in one clean website. You can also search for designers and see their portfolios.
Shane Reilly is the founder, and clearly a master of the interior design trade. She's been published in several magazines, authored a book and has a bi-coastal interior design firm- not to mention, in her spare time, she founded Decorati! Makes me feel like an uber-slacker! Here is some of Shane's work:

The whole idea behind the creation of Element was to make design accessible to those who think it is not something they can afford or need, i.e. young professionals, renters, first time condo buyers and the like. So here is my new package deal that is targeted towards such folks. Let me know what you think, pass it along to friends, or drop me a line yourself!
THE BASICS PACKAGE- $400 (for up to 1,500 square feet-price for spaces greater than that upon request)

This "design for beginners" package includes a visit to your home, survey of your space, assessment of your needs, wants and budget, followed by an e-mailed list of design suggestions with product purchasing information- leaving you with the power to consider and/or buy the items on your own time and at your own pace. Everyone deserves to feel proud and happy with their living space!
Also available at the same price:
