Makeover!!!

I was busy real estalking this morning as an attempt to avoid my heinously long to-do list.
That's just how I roll.
Anyways, I was searching in Hingham,MA, a shore town my hubby would love to move to but I would break out in hives being that far from the city. Why was I searching there, then? To torture myself with the reasonable (for this area) real estate prices and classic new england architecture that sends me into a tizzy! Yes, I know I have problems.
Anyways, the second I saw this house I turned into Cher Horowitz and screamed "Makeover!!!!"- this place is the perfect renovation project. A to-die-for Royal Barry Willis home that for some reason has been vacant and left neglacted for years. It has such unbelievably gorgeous bones and is on such an immense lot- oh, and look at the mural on the wall in the dining room and the fireplace in the kitchen! I DIE!!!! (MLS #70841169 if you're interested.)
Granted, yes, it's a hot mess with water damage, rats and rot, no doubt. But it's like a gorgeously adorable puppy at the pound- even if he has fleas and an attitude problem, you just have to have him! The potential is making me writhe with creativity!
*Sigh*- if only I could get over my fear of the burbs.
Am going to now await the e-mail from my husband begging me to buy this....5,4,3,2,1.....

HGTV Green Home

Who wouldn't want to win a whole house- especially when it's the HGTV Green Home in Port St. Lucie, Florida? Already decorated and pimped out with all the latest and greatest in green products, all you'd have to do it turn the key (and pay the tax bill- which might be an issue!) Ahhh, never mind the messy details- I'll be entering every day anyways!

Loving the stripes paired with the white sunburst mirror in the foyer, with just a hint of animal print!

Not a big fan of the living room- looks a bit anemic for a Floridian space...

Loving this vignette with the cane back chair, natural wood table, sleek lamp and classic bust- a great mix of styles and textures!

I love this lounge space- a couple of bright chaises sitting in front of some wine coolers with fantastic throw pillows and Stray Dog Designs lamp? I'd stay here 24/7. Wino alert.

The natural wood ceiling shown here is quite something!

Loving the horse print...

A sleek kitchen

A darling master bedroom (I would have done a more fun rug-Weinrib if money were no object!)

This little girl's room is so bright and cheery- I love the mix of shades of pink and orange.

If one of you wins, can I please come visit? :)

For A Cool $8 Million This Could Be Home.

While torturing myself this afternoon and looking at real estate in Beacon Hill I will never be able to afford ( a fun past time of mine) I saw this 5,700 square foot townhouse and shriveled up in jealousy. The detail, the light, the inlaid wood floors! If only we could swing a $38,000 a month mortgage. HA!!! I hope whoever buys it calls me... :)

Real Estalking Winchester Style

You guys know I love to real estalk- I always am coveting one house or another and dreaming of what I could do if only I could get my grubby little hands on it. Well, one of my client's is selling her adorable home in Winchester, MA (the place Andrew and I will go once we decide to 'burb it). From this cute home, with lots of details found in great old homes but modern amenities as well, you can walk to the commuter rail, grab a cup of Starbucks, hit a hot yoga class at Prana Yoga and pick up something cute to wear at French Lessons boutique. :) Plus, as I was shocked to find that in my car I was back in Back Bay in 10 minutes- that's faster than from where I live IN Boston. Anyways, pass this along if you know of anyone looking for a great home!
