Simply Gorgeous.

These wine jugs from Wisteria are simply gorgeous. Enough said.

Swoon.

A departure from design...
Even if you don't like American Idol, you gotta give David props for this killer performance- even Lionel Ritchie loved it.
So glad he beat David "Oh Gosh" Archuletta.
*swoon*

San Fran Fantasy!

I was sent this tip by my fabulously chic cousin Annie in SF and was so floored by this renovation I had to post! This company renovated an old San Franciscan firehouse into a $7 million dream home! Be prepared to drool--and wish you had $7 million laying around!

New Huff Po: Ode to Sex and the City

It's fluff- but relevant fluff. :)

I almost forgot!

The kind ladies at Burke Decor offered Element readers a discount of 10% on all orders. Just type in the code "GETIT" at checkout! Enjoy!

WOW! Adler Look for Less.

This rug I found on Overstock looks so like a Jonathan Adler rug, however it is a) much cheaper and b) made of indoor/outdoor fabric perfect for those with pets or kids! I love it!

Something to Smile About

I just had to share.
Walking with Baxter along the pond this morning we came across a set of baby ducks with their mother. Quite possibly the cutest thing in the world. Granted, everything "baby" is adorable, these little fluffballs were hams. They seemed to be testing out their new legs and swimming alternately really fast, like little feathered speedboats, with a slow and wobbly pace. A couple seemed to be racing and looked as if they wanted to say "Hey Mom, look how fast I can swim!!!"
It made me smile, and I hope it makes you smile too.

Thoughts?

I am thinking of taking a roll of each vintage paper I am selling on Etsy and selling off cuts of it (30" wide by 8 feet long for $20 plus shipping) for framing, as I did in my own bedroom above. What do people think of this idea? Any interest?
I fear I need to mark up the rolls as a whole since they are triple rolls and very rare- so this would give people who just want smaller sections to use for other things a chance to share in the wealth!

Flipping out over "Flipping Out"!

While watching my guilty pleasure "Work Out" on Bravo last night I saw an ad for a new season of "Flipping Out" and frankly, flipped out. Andrew and I were totally hooked on this home renovation show chock full of dramatic and design goodness last year and I am so excited to see what Jeff Lewis and crew have in store for this new season. Although Jeff seems incredibly anal and dramatic, I can't help but think that working with that crew might be fun, especially with his assistant who is Julia Louise Dreyfuss' long lost twin! His attention to detail and refusal to settle for less than the best allows him to craft some pretty spectacular homes.

Another Crafty Chandelier!

Serendipitously, while looking at the alarmingly gorgeous Interieurs site, I came across this chandelier on their 1stdibs page. After yesterday's post on the wine glass chandelier, I could not believe that I managed to come across yet another creative use for tableware as lighting! These feature vintage spoons on a steel frame in three sizes, these two shapes are my favorite. They don't come cheap, so I can see them best utilized in a great bistro/small restaurant space.

The reason I was looking on this amazing site was for this lighting fixture that was featured in their ad in this month's Metropolitain Home. I think it is quite possible the perfect chandelier- not too modern, not too traditional and with just the right amount of glamour.
