Holiday Gift Guides 2008: Under $50

The first gift guide of the season- I found some special items all for under $50 that could make fantastic gifts for friends and family this year. With the economy the way it is, I think a lot of people will be looking for great items that cost less- so perhaps there will be a round two of this category later this month!

A simple bay leaf wreath ($28.50) from William-Sonoma is elegant and classic and can be hung indoors or out. Add your own stylish ribbon to make is extra special- I think using a metallic greek key ribbon would be very chic.

The perfect present for someone who simply adores their city- original poster art by Ork Posters, ($20-$27). Printed in various colorways, pop this into a grea IKEA frame and you've got a killer gift for uner $50!

I simply adore these Iomoi notepads packaged with a bamboo pen all wrapped in vintage twine with cute tag- the perfect gift to grab for anyone, especially at $25 each!

Jonathan Adler's small gourd vase ($40)is a way to gift high style at a low price- I guarantee they will someday be collectors items. If you'd rather, snag his Home for the Holidays candle instead ($38) to give the gift of a good smelling Christmas candle, not one that smells like pine trees and potpourri on fire (and how I love the vessel it's in!)

A nifty way to keep your closet or powder room smelling faaaaaabulous- Tasselaire, a scented tassel ($39) you can tie onto a doorknob or hanger rod- comes in a variety of scents and colors.

For the glamour girl who likes her vino (hmm, sounds familiar...)a set of crystal wine stoppers ($15 each) to make even the $5 bottles look damn good.

For the hostess with the mostess bring a set of these colored Marie Antoinette champagne glasses ($29 for 4) and a bottle of $19.99 champagne (Mumm Cuvee Napa has great reviews) and you'll be the hit of the party!

Every girl needs the perfect gold flats- and these are darling (and very Loeffler Randall-esque) with the little ruffle...and the $39.50 price tag!

Feathers are all the rage, and this little headband is unexpected and looks far more pricey than it is ($12)

A great stocking stuffer for any sassy friend- witty little notebooks ($20) from J.Crew.

A lot of punch for your pennies: a resin cuff ($44) and smokey quartz studs ($39) from BR.
