Betsy Burnham's design for an L.A. couple featured in this month's Western Interiors & Design is simply to die for. Partially because she used the same exact fabric I'm making pillows out of (Brunschwig's Dzhambul) as window treatments, but also due to her adept mix of bright colors in such a skillful way as to not make it look garish or overdone. Subtle but strong patterns rule here, from the Rug Company floor coverings to the bedding and upholstery and small punches of whimsy (notice the bright orange chandelier and the pink ikat chair?) make it fun but restrained.
Simply love it.

Nice post! I have never seen a chinese cabinet in yellow...I think I like it!!!!
wow. Wow! I am loving this as well. It mixes styles so smoothly and the colors are perfect! Very similar to the color palette we're working with for the inn bedrooms we're designing. Great inspiration, thanks!
Mmmm love this house! How fun! Thanks for sharing with us.
I love the olive color scheme in the living room. Especially with the white trim. Not a huge fan of the bust on the coffee table though...
we have 2 of those LOT signs, a LOT F and a LOT A. they must have come from the same auction! we've had them kicking around the house for years but will showcase them in our next house in somewhat the same manner.
thanks!
Annie, I love that sign- you lucky girl!
Love this!! Total inspiration. Thanks for posting!
While my son was getting his hair cut at the hair cutting place, I was immediately lured by this spread and asked the shop-keeper if I could have it for the night all to "oogle" over this spread. I loved the Hawaiian Home too.
I love the dining chairs!!! The whole house is stunning!!
